Next 100 Colorado is committed to the establishment of a just and inclusive parks and public lands system. An inclusive approach to public lands over the next 100 years must be driven by three guiding principles: reflect the faces of our country, respect all cultures, and actively engage all people. In Summer 2020, Next 100 Colorado launched a successful pilot mentorship program for leaders working in outdoor recreation, conservation, and public lands management. The second cohort of that mentorship program will launch in Fall 2021.

As a member of a coalition of more than 60 partners, Next 100 Colorado also supported the creation of the Outdoor Equity Grant Program. The program was signed into law in June and will increase access and opportunity for underserved youth and their families to experience Colorado’s open spaces, state parks, public lands, and other outdoor areas.
